Calcium salt of low molecular mass heparin obtained by nitrous acid depolymerization of heparin from pork intestinal mucosa; followed by fractionation to eliminate selectively most of the chains with a molecular mass lower than 2000; the majority of the components have a 2-O-sulfo-α-L-idopyranosuronic acid structure at the non-reducing end and a 6-O-sulfo-2,5-anhydro-D-mannitol structure at the reducing end of their chain; the mass-average molecular mass ranges between 3600 to 5000 with a characteristic value of about 4300; the degree of sulfatation is about 2,1 per disaccharidic unit. |
